In the early 1980’s Decorum’s founder, Ray Koomen, decided to sell his garden landscaping business, escape the English weather and move indoors!  Thirty years on from opening his first tile shop in the historic town of Henley-on-Thames, Ray and his team are still producing beautiful hand painted tiles.

Now based in Cornwall, Decorum’s new design studio is just a few miles from the popular coastal towns of Port Isaac and Port Quin, the captivating setting for TV program Doc Martin, stomping ground of the traditional folk band The Fishermen’s Friends and inspiration for many of Daphne du Maurier’s acclaimed novels.

The move to Cornwall has enabled us to connect and work with talented local artists to produce exciting and unique collections.  Working together in our studio we develop and create high quality beautiful tiles, often inspired by our stunning Cornish surroundings, or created as a bespoke piece with only one customer in mind.  With such a talented team of designers and painters on board, a new era of tile designing has begun!

Decorum’s knowledgeable sales staff are available to answer your questions and offer help and advice on choosing the right tiles for your projects.  Please do get in touch.
